“The past year brought with it significant milestones for the Yukon, commemorating 50 years of Together Today for our Children Tomorrow, marking 125 years since joining Confederation and celebrating the anniversaries of many Self-Government Agreements with Yukon First Nations. These milestones are not only markers on a timeline; they represent the progress, unity and resilience that define us as Yukoners.

“Looking back on the previous year, it’s crucial to recognize that it brought its share of challenges and adversity. From severe climate and challenging international events to the lingering impacts of the pandemic, we are collectively navigating through issues that resonate with people across the globe.

On behalf of the Government of Yukon, a heartfelt thank you to all those who played a crucial role in keeping us safe, healthy and protected from first responders and health care professionals to wildland firefighters and everyone who took a moment this year to do an act of kindness for someone else.

“As we look ahead to the new year, let’s embrace new beginnings and look forward with hope and optimism. If you choose to celebrate this weekend, please remember to do so safely and responsibly. Drive safe and drive sober.
